It’s time for me to talk about the walk. I am one of those kind. The kind of woman that Chris Rock so eloquently described as existing on food, water, compliments and the occasional pair of shoes. So you can imagine how I felt when my shoe fetish turned into a shoe drought.
The shoe treasury that I had loving built up over the years, may as well have sunk to the bottom of Lake Erie. My size 8s went to size 10s with one baby. When I became ill with Preeclampsia and Cardiomyopathy during my pregnancy the illness resulted in me swelling immensely. And by immensely I mean 100 pounds worth of swelling.
While I managed to lose the 100 pounds, my feet which swelled to a size 10 didn’t budge. I gained 2 shoes sizes and lost 21 pairs of walking art. And thus began my quest. The quest to replenish my shoe treasury with more grand and splendor than I previously had. It may have also been prompted by the fact that I could no longer wear the tall Ugg’s that had stretched as I grew during the heat of summer and on the red carpet for my film “Breathe”. Ugg’s and sequins don’t mix well.
So my shoe quest began, but now I was in search of not only beauty but comfort and form. I wanted a range of looks from everyday beautiful to all out glam. And then I found it. A Hill of Treasure. A shoe Hill that is.
And I didn’t have to hit the high seas to find this shoe treasure. In one of my favorite boutiques, I was introduced to the shoe world of Alisha Hill. And I soon found out that this world was a close as a mouse click. I could gaze and purchase some of the most stunning shoes online at http://www.alishahill.com. And I would be in good company. This shoe treasure is fit for a queen. Alisha Hill shoes have been worn by everyone from beauty queens to prom queens. And now by me and hopefully you, the mom queen. The woman who rules the house should have a beautiful shoe to do it in.
A longtime favorite of her mother the award winning Sherri Hill and her fashions, I am so impressed on how her creative and fashion influence has become a family affair. Alisha Hill says that her mother’s influence is what gave her an eye for fashion and design. As a child, Alisha traveled to markets, pageants and factories with her mother who made her fashion world a giant and living classroom for Alisha. Both Alisha Hill and Sherri Hill have created wearable art from dresses to shoes.
Once introduced to Alisha Hill, I found that she has a stunning variety of shoes. The only difficulty I had when planning what shoes I would wear to the American Black Film Festival where I was set to premiere my film “Breathe” was picking which ones to wear. Each one is more beautiful than the next. I settled on the “Gisele”. And if that name sounds familiar, Alisha counts celebrities as a tremendous influence on her shoe design. Each shoe is named after a starlet.
The Alisha Hill shoe “Gisele” was the perfect shoe to coincide with my red carpet look. And believe it or not I had no foot ache after a long night of walking. Which is another reason why I love Alisha Hill shoes. They are beautifully comfortable.
So now my shoe treasury is getting re-built. I’ve got a Hill of shoes compliments of Alisha. From the Kourtney, Vanessa and of course the Gisele to name a few. Be sure to check out Alisha Hill shoes at http://www.alishahill.com
