Popular entertainment television fixture Giuliana Rancic revealed that she is battling breast cancer on the Today Show. The 37 year old anchor of E! News and Fashion Police cohost said that she learned of her diagnosis while going through the preparation for IVF treatment in August.

Giuliana believes that the new life that she was trying to create is responsible for helping to save hers.  Her doctor recommended a mammogram prior to her third round of in vitro treatments. The TV Host who credits her husband and former Apprentice star Bill Rancic for “being everything” said that she felt like her “world crashed around me” when she received the news. Giuliana has no family history of breast cancer and being a woman in her thirties she described her reaction as complete shock “I never in my wildest dreams expected anything to be wrong.”

In reference to her future with children she remarked “I’m not gonna give up, I want that baby. And what’s amazing is that baby will have saved my life…Now I truly believe that God was looking out for me. Had I gotten pregnant earlier or a few years down the line I could be a lot sicker.”

Her reason for revealing her diagnosis is to help other women. She is urging women to get a mammogram. “I think a lot of us think we’re invincible. But we have to start putting ourselves on the to-do list. I just want women out there to know if you can just find it early, you’ll be OK. I found it early.”
