POTUS In BuffaloIn recent years the city of Buffalo has not always been a city to be envied but on Thursday August 22, 2013 many other cities around the country were thinking of Buffalo and seeing green instead of red or blue due to the fact that Buffalo had an official visit from the President of the United States.

Regardless of your party affiliations the office of President is something to be revered. Airforce One actually flew over my obamaairforceonehome as the POTUS made his way into Buffalo, NY.  The Queen City was proud to host President Barack who kicked off a two-day trip in Buffalo which is being followed by visits to other cities in Western and Upstate New York on Ground Force One to outline to the American people a revamped education plan that seeks to tie federal aid to college costs.

“A higher education is the single best investment you can make in your future,” President Obama told students at the University of Buffalo where he spoke, “but the high costs and debt have become a barrier and a burden for too many American families.”

President Obama proposed a ratings system that would assess how colleges are working to keep costs down and federal aid would be based on a school’s frugality ratings under a proposal that would require congressional approval.

The average tuition cost at a four-year public college has increased by more than 250% over the past three decades, according to the White House. Meanwhile, incomes for typical families grew by 16%.
