The 3rd Installment Is 3x The Fun!

Cars 3 Review

When I learned I was going to get an exclusive sneak peak along with attending the world premiere of Cars 3 I as definitely revved up! The Cars franchise has been a part of my daughters upbringing from the films to the merchandise we have loved it all. But in truth, that is part of the questions that some parents have about the third installment of Cars. I have heard some parents ask, “Is Cars 3 about selling us more stuff?”  The answer is a definite no. But will you buy more? The answer is a definite yes. And here’s why. The films including Cars 3 which hits theaters on June 16th are just that good.

We fall in love with films for the story and the characters. Cars 3 has an amazing sports underdog story that will have you standing and cheering. Cars 3 also introduces us to new characters that you simply will not be able to get enough of. Girls everywhere are going to be inspired by Cruz Ramirez and you will be laughing hysterically at Miss Fritter. Disney and Pixar have found a way to create endearing characters that will take you through all of the emotions!

The old and new characters that are the center of the story make this the most emotional Cars film yet. Cars 3 finds the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers,  he is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!

The new characters in Cars 3 make this one of the best in the franchise. You are going to simply fall in love with Cruz Ramirez who is an overly spunky trainer who works for Sterling’s squad. Cruz is tasked with getting McQueen back into shape; the friction and eventual mutual understanding between the characters provides the film’s emotional centerpiece. Cruz is voiced by comedienne Cristela Alonzo.Cars 3 Cruz_ramirez

Drama! Yes, Cars 3 has plenty of it.

Jackson Storm is a new character that brings the drama. He is quick, cocky, and friendless. Younger, fitter, and faster than the aging vet McQueen, the Armie Hammer–voiced Storm stands as McQueen’s arch rival on the track.Cars 3 Review

Firefly and Castle star Nathan Fillion makes an appearance as Sterling, McQueen’s new boss, whose plans for the aging champ may be at odds with McQueen’s own desires. Nat Fillion is so charming that it is hard to determine if he is friend or foe.

New characters like Scandal’s Kerry Washington  are another reason that parents will want to take the kids to see Cars 3. You will enjoy it just as much as the kids. That’s a must for this parent. Kerry Washington is definitely one of my favs and in Cars 3 she takes a turn as Natalie Certain, a statistical analyst whose calculations are at odds with McQueen’s seat-of-the-pants style.

Miss Fritter (voice of Lea DeLaria) loves the smash-and-crash life of demolition derby. A local legend at the Thunder Hollow Speedway, Fritter’s formidable school-bus size is intimidating, but it’s her smoke stacks of doom, razor-sharp stop sign and crazy collection of her victims’ license plates that usually steers her opponents in the other direction.

The official trailer for Cars 3 shows you that the film has definitely grown up over the years and features some big action along with an emotional storyline.

Cars 3 features some dramatic moments that will have you on the edge of your seat. While the moments are visually dramatic it is still appropriate for young kids.  Cars 3 Teaser
