What Happened At The BET Awards

The 2013 BET Awards hosted by Chris Tucker was touted as the show where “anything can happen” and that anything was top notch performances by a bevy of stars. A theme for the night was multiple performances which probably suited the audience who got the chance to see more of their favorite stars and some of the night’s top winners.

Miguel was one of the big winners of the night and performed three times singing along and then joining Mariah Carey and J. Cole for collaborations. Nicki Minaji performed with both Ciara and Chris Brown while Pharrell joined Robin Thick on his chart topping hit “Blurred Lines” and also on one of the nights stand out performances with Charlie Wilson.

Erykah Badu also sang twice performing with another of the nights top winners Kendrick Lamar and then helping to close the show with Janelle Monae in a performances of “Q.U.E.EN.” But the singing was left to just the formal recording artists there was also a performance by host Christ Tucker who did his famous Michael Jackson impressions and performance.

The current king of comedy Kevin Hart may have stolen some of the comedic light from Chris Tucker with his improv bits about Nicki Minaji and his general antics on stage.
